Raw footage
With Dive AnalyserReal frame from a 4K, 120 fps clip, 0.86 s after the GO. Pose tracking finds the diver's joints on every frame, and the body-segment model turns them into angles, heights, speeds and a centre of mass. Here it shows a 31° pike at the hips.
- 33body landmarks tracked on every frame
- 14body segments in the centre-of-mass model (de Leva, 1996)
- 1diver followed, everyone else in the shot ignored
- 9.81m/s² of gravity used to check the speed scale
Why a phone
The biomechanics lab, minus the lab.
Dive start analysis has always needed specialist kit and someone to run it. Dive Analyser gets you the key numbers from one phone video.
Usual biomechanics setup
- Several synchronised high-speed cameras
- Instrumented blocks or force plates
- Markers stuck on the swimmer
- A biomechanist to process the footage
- Booked sessions at a lab or centre
Dive Analyser
- One phone, handheld is fine
- Any pool, any block
- Nothing on the swimmer
- The software does the processing
- Film at any session and get results in minutes
The body model
Every frame, modelled.
Joints, segments and centre of mass, tracked from the set position to the glide.

How it works
From video to report in five steps.
No lab, no markers and no upload. Just your phone video, a few clicks, and the computer does the rest.

What you get
The numbers that decide a start.
Every measurement is drawn onto the footage, so you can see exactly where it came from.
Time to water
From the GO to the hands entering the water, plus reaction time off the block.
Launch & entry speed
Speed as the feet leave the block and as the hands enter, calibrated against gravity.
Launch & entry angle
The angle off the block and the angle into the water.
Bodyline
How straight the body is at launch, in flight and at entry, so a pike or an arch shows up.
Centre of mass
Head, hip and centre-of-mass heights through the flight, worked out from every body segment.
Video & share card
Download the annotated video, a portrait share card and the full report.
Filming
All the kit you need is already in your pocket.
Your phone is the whole setup. No tripod, no extra kit. Three things get you the best numbers.
Side-on
Stand level with the block, at right angles to the lane.
Whole dive in frame
From the block to well past where the hands enter, with the 5 m mark in view.
Hold it steady
Handheld is fine, just try not to pan or zoom during the dive. Film at a high frame rate if you can.
